Users can choose to play in solo mode against an AI, assuming the role of prominent figures such as Napoleon, and lead armies across diverse terrains, including the landscapes of France, the vastness of Russia, and the deserts of Egypt. Additionally, players can opt to strategize against renowned commanders like Blucher or the Duke of Wellington, adding layers of complexity and immersion to the gameplay.
Players will navigate through a variety of detailed hex maps, each featuring a scale of 40 miles per hex, weather conditions, and important cities that contribute to production and victory. The game includes six major powers, which players can join as either Pro or Anti-French alliances, as well as numerous minor nations. A diverse roster of generals with unique ratings leads armies that are represented by abstract strength points, giving players a sense of the historical context and scale of the engagements.
The turn-based system operates on a monthly scale, encompassing phases for attrition, alliances, reinforcements, movement, and combat. The application also features an intuitive on-screen guide to facilitate understanding of the game's mechanics and strategies.
