The application is designed to enhance road safety by utilizing a comprehensive database of hazards reported by other users globally. Its latest version is compatible with all countries, making it a versatile tool for any traveler. Upon initial launch, the app attempts to automatically update the necessary Points of Interest (POI) databases specific to the user's country, which requires enabled GPS for accuracy. If the automatic update process does not occur, users can manually update the database through the “Update databased” menu to ensure they have the latest information about speed cameras and other hazards in their region.
The LIGHT version of the application is user-friendly, as it defaults to initiating hazard detection automatically. Users have the option to start or stop this mode by pressing the circular button located at the bottom right corner of the screen. Notifications are tailored only to the dangers that lie along the user's current route, enhancing the relevance of alerts. Navigation within the app is intuitive, allowing users to access main settings by swiping from the left side of the screen and the hazard filter by swiping from the right. Additionally, authenticated users can contribute to the community by adding new hazards, tapping the (+) icon on the top left of the screen.
The functionality of the application sets it apart from traditional hardware radar detectors. Unlike these devices, which passively alert drivers to radar signals without intervention, this application actively uses the user’s GPS location to reference the database of previously reported hazards. For example, if the app receives information about a potential mobile speed trap, it can alert users to this risk, indicating a higher probability of the danger being present at that location. This interactive and community-driven approach allows users to contribute to the accuracy of hazard detection by adding new threats and rating existing ones based on their experiences.
