The application allows users to enhance their experience by integrating characters into their real environment through augmented reality (AR). To begin, users must prepare by printing specific images in A3 size. These images serve as the markers where the characters will appear, and they should be placed on a stable surface, like a table, for optimal viewing and interaction.
To operate the application, users first select a character from the displayed list once the app is launched. Initially, the only character available is Alicia Solid. After making a selection, users can hide the character list to view the scene better or bring it back up if necessary. The app utilizes the camera function of the device, allowing users to point their camera at the pre-printed markers. When the criteria for character selection and camera fitting are met, the selected character will automatically appear on the table, ready for interaction.
After the character has appeared, there are several functionalities available to the user. They can take a picture of the scene using the camera icon, capturing the character from any angle, with the images being saved directly to the device’s gallery. Additionally, users have the option to hide or show the marker image using a cloth icon, which is particularly useful for incorporating real-world objects into pictures with the character. Users can also toggle the character’s visibility or switch to different models as desired.
For users interested in adding more VRM models, the application provides two methods for importing these files. The first method involves using iTunes on a PC to transfer VRM files directly to the app. The second method allows users to utilize the iOS file application to place the VRM file in the "VDateNow" folder. The app adheres to privacy guidelines, accessing the camera for AR functionality and the photo library for saving images. Furthermore, it includes default models provided by DWANGO Co., Ltd., which enrich the user's experience with additional character options.
