This military strategy game requires players to effectively operate and distribute three fundamental types of troops: soldiers, tanks, and artillery. Soldiers offer high yields but generally possess moderate attack power. Tanks boast high attack strength and continue their assault until they completely destroy enemy units. Artillery units specialize in attacking soldiers and tanks while being immune to counterattacks, adding a tactical layer to battlefield decisions. The game’s AI is designed to assess the current situation accurately, making real-time decisions that challenge the player's strategic planning. Different countries have unique armament attributes; for instance, Germany has powerful tanks but at high costs, the Soviet Union's cannons are top-notch, and Britain's navy is considered the best, creating a diverse and realistic military landscape.
Troops in the game gain combat experience through battles and can earn medals once enough experience is accumulated. Troops with medals become more effective and are promoted to Troop Aces, significantly increasing their combat capabilities. This system encourages strategic engagement with troops and emphasizes their development over time, making troop management a key aspect of gameplay. Players can deploy various military cards to coordinate their battles, such as soldier, tank, and artillery cards for ground forces, as well as naval, air, construction, and special cards to influence different aspects of the battlefield and strategy. These cards allow for a diverse range of tactical decisions and resource management.
The game offers two main modes: conquest mode and battle mode. In conquest mode, players select one of the 11 Axis and Allied countries, aiming to alter the course of history by dominating the world across three different time periods: 1940, 1942, and 1944, which correspond to early, middle, and late World War II scenarios. The players' choices influence alliances, enemies, and neutral nations, providing a dynamic and historically inspired challenge. Alternatively, battle mode features ten significant historical battles—such as D-Day, the Battle of Kursk, and the Pacific War—that can be played independently, offering a focused and varied combat experience designed to test strategic skills in iconic scenarios.
