The purpose of our application is to enhance financial accessibility in emerging markets by utilizing technology and the extensive use of mobile devices. We focus on creating products aimed at making a positive impact on financial inclusion. Our goal is to eliminate obstacles that prevent individuals in these markets from accessing essential financial services by leveraging modern technology.
A significant feature of our app is the ability to verify user addresses, which is critical for granting access to increased loan limits and tier 3 transaction limits. This feature relies on the capacity to monitor specific regions and receive background location updates. Such monitoring ensures that we can accurately validate a user’s address, which is a fundamental requirement for our lending services.
To illustrate the functionality of the address verification feature, we have produced a video demonstration. This video showcases how the app effectively tracks a user’s location and defines a region around their registered address. The verification of the address occurs after the user visits this designated area a specified number of times, allowing us to confirm their identity and location adequately.
We recognize that enabling background location tracking can affect battery performance. To address this concern, we have implemented measures to minimize battery drain by only monitoring locations that users have explicitly chosen to register. Moreover, we cease to provide location updates when users are outside these defined regions, ensuring that the app operates efficiently without unnecessarily impacting the device's power consumption.
