The world has been plunged into darkness and chaos. In the wilds of Midgard, the dead now roam freely in the daylight. The rivers are poisoned and even the Valkyries no longer take the fallen warriors to Valhalla. Something sinister is lurking in the shadows of the forests and gorges, and it is all because of the goddess Hel and her black magic. In just 15 days, she has cursed the land and now she seeks to enslave the living kingdom.
But there is one group that is unaffected by this curse - the immortal Jarls of the northern warriors. Death no longer exists for them, and even the healers and shamans are at a loss to explain this phenomenon. With the way to Valhalla closed, the only option left is to arm themselves and fight back against the creatures of darkness, sending them back to Helheim.
Frostborn is a co-op survival game with MMORPG elements. Players must team up with other Vikings to build a strong base, confront the creatures hiding in the shadows and in the shrines of the gods, and battle other players in raids and random encounters in various locations and dungeons.
Players can choose from over a dozen RPG-style classes, each with their own unique abilities and playstyles. Whether you prefer heavy armor and close combat, long-range attacks, or stealth and assassination, there is a class for you. And with the crafting system, players can create powerful weapons, armor, and other items to aid them in their battles against the darkness.
In this world where the old order no longer exists, players must do whatever it takes to survive. This includes trading with other players, forming alliances, or even betraying them for resources. And to truly thrive, players must also build their own city, with strong walls, houses, and shops. But this is no easy task and will require cooperation with other players and the inhabitants of the city.
But the dangers do not only lie on the surface. Players can also venture into the ancient sanctuaries of the gods - dungeons filled with powerful enemies and legendary artifacts. These dungeons are reminiscent of traditional MMORPGs and provide a new level of challenge for players.
