More About SMS Backup & Restore Pro
This app is designed to help users restore call logs and messages from existing backups. It cannot recover any data without existing backups. If you have any questions or issues, please visit our FAQ page on our website.
The app offers additional features that are not available in the free version, such as the ability to compress and encrypt backups and use WebDAV as a backup location. Other features include the ability to backup SMS, MMS, and call logs in XML format, with options to automatically upload to Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive. Users can also choose a recurring scheduled time for backups and select which conversations to backup or restore. The app also allows users to view and search their local and cloud backups, as well as transfer backups to another phone. The backup format is independent of the Android version, making it easy to transfer data between devices.
In addition, the app offers a fast transfer option between two phones over WiFi direct, freeing up space on the user's phone by allowing them to delete all SMS messages or call logs. Users can also email a backup file and view the XML backup on a computer using the online viewer on our website.
The app has been tested on Android 5.0 and higher and can only restore backups made by this app. Backups are created locally on the phone by default, but users have the option to upload them to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or email. The app does not send any files to the developer. However, it is recommended to have a copy of the backup outside of the phone before performing a factory reset.
In order to function properly, the app requires access to certain permissions, such as messages, calls and contact information, network view and communication, social information, and account information. These permissions are necessary for the app to backup and restore data, connect to WiFi for backups, display and store contact names, start scheduled backups, prevent the phone from sleeping during backup or restore operations, and authenticate with Google Drive and Gmail for cloud uploads. The location permission is only requested and used during WiFi direct transfer for security purposes.
Note: This app requires existing backups to be able to restore call logs and messages. It cannot recover anything without existing backups.

* Your Calls and Contact information: Backup and Restore Call Logs.
* Network view and communication: Allows the app to connect to wifi for backup
* Your social information: To display and store the contact names in the Backup file.
* Run at start-up: Start scheduled Backups.
* Prevent Phone from Sleeping: To prevent the phone from going to sleep/suspended state while a Backup or Restore operation is in progress.
* Account Information: To authenticate with Google Drive and Gmail for cloud uploads.
* Location: Only requested and used during WiFi direct transfer due to a security requirement on Android.
